If Your Pledge Was Declined, Here's What to Do!

I've had a few people who have contacted me, letting me know their pledge was declined. If you happen to be in this situation,here is the advice that Kickstarter offers.

I have no control over this as a project creator, but if the problem continues past the 7 day mark, and your pledge is dropped, you'll still have the opportunity to receive your GeneFunk 2090 Book/PDF at the same time as everyone else using the Backerkit online store, which allows you to become a "late backer". 

This store will be set up in a week or two, so don't despair if you still aren't able to resolve the problem after taking the steps described in the link above. Thanks for your patience, I'll always be available to contact personally to make sure you can get your rewards! Have a good weekend! :)

Calling All Playtesters!

I was going to send out a survey to see who is interested in participating in the next Playtest, but I think it will be easier if I just let everyone self-select to become a playtester through the Discord server, since that is where the feedback will be hashed out anyway!

We’re now a community over 900 strong, and every pledge made is going to bring GeneFunk 2090 into fruition in the best way possible. The over 28,000 CAD raised will go to printing, graphic design, art, writing, and editing the Core Rulebook, as well as the Stretch Goal rewards, so thank you for allowing me to make these products as good as they can be. I literally wouldn’t be able to do it without you.  

Backerkit Pledge Manager

Once Kickstarter processes everything, which they tell me will take 2-3 weeks, the pledge manager will be activated. You’ll be able to enter your address, purchase additional add-ons, or upgrade your pledge!

Estimated Fulfillment Dates

GeneFunk 2090 Core Rulebook PDF. I know some Kickstarters like to release the PDF at the same time as when the physical books ship out, but I don’t see any point in holding back a finished digital product while the physical one is being printed. As such, you can expect the GeneFunk 2090 Core Rulebook PDF to be distributed to you all as soon as it is ready, which I expect will be October 2019.

Other Digital Rewards.  I’ll also aim to have the other digital rewards completed by October 2019, with the exception of the Shadows of Korea Setting Book, which won’t be ready until February 2020 or so.

GeneFunk 2090 Core Rulebook Hardcover. February 2020 is still the estimated time of delivery for the physical book! The shipping costs will be assessed closer to when the books are printed and ready to ship! I’ll certainly secure fulfillment centres in Canada, U.K., and U.S.A. to get as low a shipping rate as possible, and I’ll work on getting one in Australia too. Shipping to 

Pledges with Custom Art

The following pledges have custom art as part of the reward.

I’ll be messaging you individually in the coming days and weeks to get the details on your pieces, so I can pass them on to the artists! The final art will be shown to you as soon as it the piece is finished, and it will be included in the book. 

Playtesting 

I’ll be making another update tomorrow to inquire about interest in playtesting, and will send out the appropriate materials on June 1st to 3rd to any who want to participate. All backers are welcome, this game is for you, so your input will be valued! :)

Final Strech Goal Unlocked - Setting Book: Shadows of Korea!

Wow, we did it! Every single Stretch Goal unlocked! I lived in Korea for 3 years, and still know people there, it's going to be a blast to bring the GeneFunk 2090 Korea to life!

A book describing Korea, Land of the Morning Calm, in the year 2090. It will include dozens of major NPCs, fantastic art, plot hooks, details on the crime syndicates and major chaebol corporate powers, popular Korean genomes, and more! It will be a sandbox setting used as the basis for a GeneFunk 2090 campaign. It will be released as a PDF, with print on demand options through DriveThruRPG!

 You guys are the best, what a way to blitz through the final 24 hours! :)

Wow, what a final week it has been! Thank you everyone, we've taken this all the way to putting the final Stretch Goal within range, we can do it! Every single pledge is meaningful to me, so thank you. 

Here is a taste of some of the art for various bioengineered flora and fauna that your characters may come across, or ever create if you play a Biohacker. :)  If you can imagine it, there is some entrepreneurial biohacker or biotech company that can make it. This wonderful art is from Dean Spencer and Tony Carter. Yep, with all the biohacking, things can get pretty Cronenberged. :)

The more illicit of these genomes are often manufactured illegally, in places like the bosque oscuro, a huge area in the Amazonian rainforest that is controlled by black market biohackers, and is defended by everything from hostile bacteria and viruses to gigantic dangerous beasts, and toxic or carnivorous plants.
